Resources for Parents/Teachers

There are many ways to teach children to be

generous. Young children can be generous by:

  • sharing their toys
  • helping with chores at home
  • donating old clothes or toys to charity
  • offering kind words and compliments
  • being a good listener
  • sitting with someone new at lunch
  • leaving encouraging notes, or simply performing small acts of kindness for others around them.

Here are tips for getting kids involved:

  • Be a role model
  • Find something fun and easy
  • Make volunteering part of the family schedule
  • Create your own opportunities
  • Learn from other generations
  • Enlist friends and family
